THE PERSONAL TOUCH. In this day there are so many
companies who do not give the personal approach. Only recently have we had building work
done at our house and the mess that was left, doors left open, lights left on
and at the end half done. would…..” The personal touch is what makes us
stand out from the rest and that is one thing we are very serious about. If we can do something to make that
personal touch we will do so. Well when we do a karaoke we always
say that if it were our party we would expect……… If it was a party for one of our
close family members what would we like….. Before we started doing karaoke’s we
used to go to karaoke’s ran by other peopel.
We saw many things we liked and many things we did not. Back then not one karaoke played music in
between singers while the next singer was being set up. It was just a karaoke and when someone was
not singing there was silence or talking.
We noticed that silence was boring and some of the chat was not nice
to people who had sang and noticed a lot of people got bored with the chat so
we were the first around here who put music between singers to keep the
atmosphere going. We also try to keep
the music between singers to the same tempo so there is a steady flow. Last thing you want is a rock track between
two love songs or vice versa. Most of the time we run the show for
you from start to finish. However we
have done private parties where there is a bit of a comedian in the family
and a request was if they could compare the show. In this situation we set the system up as
much out of the way as possible and we communicate with the person hosting
the show through the singers TV so all they have to do is get all the
information off the screen on who is singing next. We can also put any other information up on
there too for them. This gives a full
personal touch to the party we can also use other systems for this. We put a lot more into the karaoke
then a lot of other karaoke’s and we pride ourselves on that. We have a fair system where everyone gets
their turn to sing. We urge people to tell us about the
reason for the party just in case there is anything we can do to make it
special the more information we have the more ideas we can come up with. We did a Karaoke for Amanda and
Alex. Alex was currently serving in
Afghanistan at the time it was Amanda’s Surprise Birthday Party. When we were asking Amanda’s parents Dave and
Susan if we should know about anything else they mentioned that Alex had got
leave and that he would be making a Surprise visit. He was just going to walk in at some point
and we thought that there must be some better way we could do it. After a chat with the venue and Amanda’s
parents this is what we came up with… … Amanda walked into the room with
everyone clapping and cheering. She is
overwhelmed by a surprise party. Once
she has settled she was asked to come up to the karaoke as we had a special
Surprise. We gave her a microphone
that had a delay set up on it and told her to watch the screen. We flicked a switch on and there was Alex,
her fiancé in uniform in Afghanistan….. Well sort of. He was really just standing behind a
curtain and there was a background picture behind him. We told her she was able to speak to him
and she did on the microphone. There
was a delay of her talking very quiet in the background so it actually
sounded like he was many miles away.
We had a cable with a purposely broken connection that was being
messed with by someone else that made the picture go off and on and all
fuzzy. We then told her that we could
not keep the connection any longer and she was to say bye. There was an emotional goodbye from her and
before he had chance to say bye we cut the signal at which point we took the
mic off her as someone opened the curtains and she just stood there and saw
him. This was an emotional time for
everyone there. We as a karaoke did
not really do anything as the family had organised him coming back. However we made it a little more special by
the way the entrance was made. We had a regular venue at a venue
that had a function room upstairs. We
were doing a public karaoke downstairs when a guy came downstairs to the
manager of the venue and told her that their entertainment had let them
down. It was confusing and a hard job
but we managed to run two different rooms using the same system with the
backup system. This meant that what
ever was played on drive 1 went public downstairs and what ever was played on
CD drive two went upstairs to the wedding with a link using a radio mic on
what to play up there and requests. We have done regular venues where we
have had a speaker in each room and we played 60’s to the one room and chart
to the other room between singers.
This means that although both rooms could hear the singer there was
different music played between singers.
This we did to help out the venue but something we do not make a habit
of doing as it is hard work and a chargeable extra. So when you come to us a book us,
please tell us as much as you can even if you think it is not worth talking
about. Even if we can put a poster up
or just so we know who the party is for. The more we know the more ideas we
can try to come up with. Help us to help you…. |
